And, thus, it begins

Daniel Stoller here.

The concept behind this blog has been a long time coming, and in fact, I did some blogging back in high school (nothing significant, but still, the groundwork for this endeavor).

I started this blog at the behest of Dan Kennedy, a noted media critic (see his blog here), and more importantly the first professor I had in Northeastern University's school of journalism.

Ending our Interpreting the Day's News class (an introduction to media critique, as well as a prerequisite for Journalism 1), he asked how many of the students blogged. I half-raised my hand (as I said, I did some blogging in high school) but was the only one to do so.

He then asked us to create blogs. And so, with that onus, here I am.

I cannot guarantee the regularity with which this will be updated, but if you are tech savvy, RSS is always a good option. Otherwise, you'll just have to keep up, and, I, as a blogger promise to notify readers if I'm updating after a long absence.

So here goes nothing.
