- When I was a young child, the literary heroes my parents pushed on me were those who used their writing to bring about social change. Kerouac, Steinbeck, Thompson, Wolfe and many others shaped how I viewed the world. Now, I am in college training for the job my entire life as a social activist and political junkie has prepared me for.
